The kit utilized factor C pathway in horseshoe crab blood LAL lysate. It is highly sensitivity to the endotoxin in human plasma. During gram-negative infection, sepsis patients, the blood endotoxin level will increase. The assay of blood endotoxin level is a good way to detect gram negative bacterial infection in early stage.
